(Do We Have Any Big Envelopes?) "Years of Change" Authors Donate Royalties!

Hey, it's not even my insurance company, but I LOVE Frank "The Saver" and his big check on the esurance commercials (almost as much as I LOVE "Mayhem" (website here) from the Allstate commercials...and no, that's not my company either).

Anyway, this post isn't about insurance companies,
but it is about a check!

We recently got the book sales summary for Years of Change and Suffering: Modern Perspectives on Civil War Medicine for the year 2010 from our publisher (Edinborough Press) and distributor (Independent Publishers Group).

The hardcover was published in October 2009 and the softcover in April 2010. Sales of both editions through the distributor and directly through the publisher were terrific.

The even better news is:

The contributors to the book had agreed to donate all royalties to Civil War medical heritage preservation, so once again we will be making donations to the National Museum of Civil War Medicine and the Society of Civil War Surgeons.

Since the time the book was published in fall 2009, book sales have allowed us to make almost $1,000 in donations to these two organizations!

Many thanks to the contributors: Guy R. Hasegawa, Pharm. D., Jodi Koste, M.S., Alfred Jay Bollet, M.D., F. Terry Hambrecht, M.D., Harry Herr, M.D., D. J. Canale, M.D., and Judith E. Andersen, Ph.D.!

And if you have bought a copy of Years of Change and Suffering...thanks to you, also!
